Terms of Service
Rentby · Last updated: October 24, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Rentby (the "App"), provided by Dropfeed LLC ("Dropfeed," "we," "us"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Rentby lets Shopify merchants rent out physical products for a date range. You set up rental items with the number of units you own, a price per day or for fixed periods, an optional flat fee and refundable deposit, and the open days, notice, buffer days and blackout dates that apply. Shoppers choose rental dates on the product page and pay in Shopify's own checkout; the dates are recorded on the order and the units are held for them.
2. Eligibility
You must have an active Shopify store and the authority to install apps and modify content on it. You are responsible for activity in your account.
3. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
- Every feature is on every plan. Plans differ only in how many rentals a month they include: Free, 10 rentals a month, with a small “Powered by Rentby” badge under the rental calendar; Starter, $19/month, 75 rentals a month; Pro, $49/month, 300 rentals a month; Scale, $99/month, unlimited rentals. Paid subscriptions are billed through Shopify's Billing API and appear on your Shopify invoice.
- Plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from the App's Plans page or by uninstalling the App; cancellation stops future charges and Shopify applies any prorated credit.
- Except where required by law or Shopify policy, fees are non-refundable.
- Plan limits are described in the App and on our listing. Once you reach your plan's monthly rentals, rental dates stop showing on your storefront, so new online rentals pause until the 1st of the next month (in your store's time zone) or until you upgrade. Rentals already booked are not affected.
- Done-for-you setup is an optional one-time charge of $149, billed through Shopify. We set up the App on your store using collaborator access that you approve and can remove at any time. If we can’t get it working on your store, we refund you.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App, including: using it for unlawful content, attempting to bypass plan limits or security, reselling the service, or overloading the system. We may suspend access for violations.
5. Your rentals, agreements and deposits
- You are responsible for the rentals you configure (units, prices, deposits, shortest and longest rentals, buffer days, open days, notice, blackout dates and time zone) and for keeping them current. Place a test rental before promoting rentals to customers.
- The App holds units from the information you give it. It does not track the physical condition or whereabouts of your items, and it cannot know that a unit is lost, damaged or out of service unless you change the number of units you own.
- You are responsible for your own rental agreements with your customers, including any rental terms, damage and late return policies, and for every decision to refund or keep a deposit. The App refunds a deposit only when you click to refund it, for the amount you enter. Any late fee or damage charge is between you and your customer.
- The App works out the rental price from your rates; Shopify's checkout charges it. You are responsible for your store's taxes, shipping, discounts and payment settings. Handing a rental over and getting it back remains your responsibility. We do not guarantee any specific sales, bookings, or revenue outcome.
6. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of your store data and of the rental items and content you configure using the App. Dropfeed retains all rights in the App itself, including its software, design, and trademarks.
7. Third-party services
The App relies on Shopify and on our hosting provider (see our Privacy Policy). Your use of those services is also subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party outages or changes.
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dropfeed will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 3 months before the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Dropfeed against claims arising from your use of the App, your rentals, or content you publish in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to comply with law.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms; the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
